What changes beyond paperwork is the building stock. River towns like Rocheport and Boonville carry nineteenth century masonry and steep old framing. The farm towns north of Columbia have open exposure and outbuildings. The commuter towns south have twenty five years of fast subdivision building, all of which is reaching its second roof at once.
